Where’s the Fastest Broadband?

 

It’s Not Where You Think. A report released last week by Web hosting company Akamai Technologies has listed Berkeley, CA as the fastest city according to Internet speeds. Other notable cities on the list included: Chapel Hill, NC, Stanford, CA, Durham, NC, and Ithaca, and  NY.

Basically, these findings are of limited use if you are trying to determine where the best place is to live with the fastest consumer broadband, but they do make it clear that universities enjoy the fastest Internet connections. So if you’re hoping for faster Internet speeds, become a student or get a job on campus of research university. At least we hope the bandwidth is put to good use.
